Step by Step
1
Prepare the Mint Syrup Base
In a blender, combine 1/2 cup of fresh mint leaves with 1/4 cup of the granulated sugar and 1/2 cup of cold water. Blend until the mint is finely chopped and the mixture is vibrant green.
β± 5 min
2
Strain the Mint Infusion
Pour the blended mint mixture through a fine-mesh sieve into a pitcher, pressing down on the solids to extract all the liquid. Discard the strained mint pulp. This creates a concentrated mint syrup.
β± 3 min
3
Juice the Lemons
Thoroughly wash and halve the large lemons. Using a citrus juicer, extract all the juice, ensuring no seeds fall into the pitcher. You should aim for about 1 to 1.5 cups of fresh lemon juice.
β± 4 min
4
Combine Ingredients
Add the fresh lemon juice, the remaining 3.5 cups of cold water, and the rest of the granulated sugar (starting with 1/2 cup and adding more if desired) to the pitcher with the mint infusion. Stir well until the sugar completely dissolves.
β± 2 min
5
Taste and Adjust
Taste the lemonade and adjust the sweetness or tartness as per your preference. You can add more sugar for sweetness or a splash more lemon juice for extra tang.
β± 1 min
6
Chill and Serve
Place the pitcher of Arabic Mint Lemonade in the refrigerator to chill thoroughly for at least 30 minutes. When ready to serve, fill glasses with ice cubes, pour the chilled lemonade, and garnish with fresh mint sprigs and lemon slices.
β± 30 min (chill time)
